1. 8th edition of the International Conference on Wild Silk Moths  Guwahati, Assam

The Conference has been organized by the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and International Society for Wild Silk Moths, Japan.India is holding the event for the second time with an aim to explore latest research and development.

2. 15th edition of Mumbai Marathon 2018 Soloman Deksisa from Ethiopia

Indian Olympic athlete T Gopi won the Mumbai Marathon in the Indian Elite category and Sudha Singh of Central Railways won in the Indian Elite Women category. Amane Gobena from Ethiopia has won the Mumbai Marathon in women’s category.

4. Chennai to host DefExpo in April 2018

DefExpo 2018 will be held between April 11 and 14 at a temporary expo centre on East Coast Road near Mahabalipuram(Tamil Nadu).DefExpo India —– Land, Naval & Internal Homeland Security Systems Exhibition is held once in two years. The last edition was held in Goa, and the one before that in Delhi.

5.PFRDA allows 25% withdrawal after 3 years in NPS

NPS(National Pension Scheme) subscribers who have contributed for three years can now withdraw up to 25 per cent of the contributions.Earlier, the partial withdrawal was allowed only after completion of 10 years of subscription.

National Pension Scheme

National Pension Scheme (NPS), a government-sponsored pension scheme, was launched in January 2004 for government employees. It was opened to all sections in 2009. A subscriber can contribute regularly in a pension account during her working life, withdraw a part of the corpus in a lumpsum and use the remaining corpus to buy an annuity to secure a regular income after retirement.

7.Navy's All-Woman Crew Aboard INSV Tarini 'Navika Sagar Parikrama' Crosses Cape Horn

The Indian Navy's first all-women crew of Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, which was flagged-off from Goa in September, has rounded the Cape Horn through the Drake Passage between South America's Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands of Antarctica
The expedition is being covered in five legs, with stop-overs at four ports: Fremantle in Australia, Lyttelton in New Zealand, Port Stanley in Falklands and Cape Town in South Africa.
The Vessel is skippered by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi

Election Commissioners have a fixed term of six years but have to step down if they reach 65 years of age before their term expires
