1. Tai Tzu Ying's Won the 2018 Indonesian Title by defeating Sania Nehwal.



The world no.1 Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan has defeated Saina Nehwal in the finals of the Indonesia Masters in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Saina suffered her seventh straight defeat to world no.1 and old nemesis Tai Tzu Ying of Indonesia.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced that Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying was crowned as the new World No 1 women’s singles shuttler.

2. Paytm share sale creates more than 20 millionaires


Softbank-backed Paytm  said its valuation has reached to about USD 10 billion following a secondary sale where some existing and former employees sold part of their shares to new investors including undisclosed family offices and a few western funds.
The round saw about 200 employees of the company liquidating their vested ESOPs(Employee Stock Options) for Rs 300 crore.
Both Paytm and Flipkart have been sharing a common investor Softbank .

3.  Vijay Keshav Gokhale takes charge as Foreign Secretary

Seasoned diplomat Vijay Keshav Gokhale, who played a key role in resolving the Doklam standoff with China, will take charge as the next foreign secretary, succeeding S Jaishankar.
A 1981-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, Gokhale is currently serving as the secretary (economic relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

5. Tennis Player Leander Paes wins 25th Challenger doubles title at Newport Beach in California,USA


Veteran Indian tennis star Leander Paes won his 25th ATP Challenger level doubles title with partner James Cerretani(USA) after beating Denis Kudla(USA) and Treat Huey(Philippines) in the final of the Newport Beach event in California, USA.
The second-seeded Indo-American pair defeated the American-Filipino combine 6-4 7-5 in the summit clash of the USD 150,000 hard court tournament.

7. First ever 'Khadi Haat' inaugurated in Delhi.

Marking the 69th Republic Day celebrations, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) have launched the first ever 'Khadi Haat' in the country.
The Khadi Haat was inaugurated on January 25 by Union Minister of State Giriraj Singh in Connaught Place here in presence of New Delhi Lok Sabha MP Meenakshi Lekhi, KVIC Chairman V K Saxena, NDMC Chairman Naresh Kumar and noted fashion designer Ritu Beri among others.

8. India to host informal WTO Ministerial gathering in March 2018.


India has announced to host informal Ministerial meeting of World Trade Organisation (WTO) in March 2018. The meeting will be held in Delhi on March 19 – 20. India’s offering to host the meeting was made after trade ministers from various countries including Australia, Japan and Switzerland for an informal WTO ministerial gathering in Davos,Switzerland to discuss the way forward for the global trade organisation.
Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the WTO Deepak Jagdish Saksena attended the informal meeting held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual summit in Davos, Switzerland.

11. Pune’s new Cyber Security Centre is the ‘online supercop’ who will protect India’s crucial information.

The International Cyber Security Centre launched in Baner by Incedo, a US-based IT services and consulting firm, will play a key role in monitoring real-time threats in the field of data and financial fraud management.
The centre has been set up in a strategic partnership with security and compliance solutions provider Tripwire, the global provider of security and compliance solutions for enterprises, industrial organisations and government agencies.

13. Pakistan on Top of the World With New Zealand T20 Series Win against New Zealand.

Pakistan laid claim to being the best Twenty20 side in the world Sunday after beating New Zealand in the series-deciding third Twenty20 match in Mount Maunganui. The 18-run victory gave Pakistan a come-from-behind 2-1 series win that will see them overtake New Zealand at the top of the world rankings.
